LITTLE TOWN OF TUNDLA
I like to mention this little town of Tundla on our journey from Agra to shimla. You may be wonder why I mention this town. This town is situated nearly 15 Km from Agra. Agra Cantt is located in the Bhopal Newdelhi train route, where as Tundla is situated in Howrah delhi Train route. The reason for chosing this station got two purpose.
I dont want to go all the way to Delhi and wait for Kalka Mail to board as this train reaches Delhi in the odd hours. Kalka Mail pass through Tundla and got reservation quota and it reaches Tundla by 4 in the evening. So I can avoid unnecessary headache in moving from New delhi to old delhi with luggage and crossing all the platforms, etc, Initially I was discouraged by many not to board from Tundla as no one ever heard of this station. But I decided to take chance, and decided to book my train to Kalka from Tundla.
On the 2nd day of our Agra visit we checked out of our hotel after heavy breakfast. We had ample amount of time as our train from Tundla departs by 4 30 Pm. So we decided to roam Agra town, and visited some famous Agra Peda shops. We purchased some pedas and went straight to see Mini Taj

Although small in size when compared to the Taj Mahal, a visit to the baby Taj is like taking a brief step back in time in Agra’s history, one best done after a visit to the iconic structure.
If visiting the Baby Taj at the end of your stay in Agra, it is easy to see where the designs of the Taj Mahal came from. The use of white marble and intricate inlays are similarly found in this mausoleum, but taken to the next level on the facade of the Taj Mahal. We like to think that there was possibly some bitterness in the family, and the husband of Mumtaz wanted to build something so grand that it overshadowed the otherwise stunning and iconic Baby Taj of its day (thus pushing her grandfather to the back pages of the history books).
Of course, there is no proof to this idea, but why else build something on a scale so much larger than another temple in the region other than as a way to one-up a rival or settle some old family feud?
After visiting this baby taj we drove straight to the town of Tundla. We crossed Yamuna Express way to reach Tundla. Tundla is a very small town, and due to its proximity with Agra and also the nearest station for tourists to take the holy city of varanasi , this station being used by lots of foreign tourists.
Our driver dropped us around 3pm at Tundla Railway station. I checked with the enquiry about the running status of Kalka mail and I was informed that this train running late by more than 2 hrs. I engaged one portar to carry the luggage as we need to cross foot over bridge to reach main platform 1 and 2 where the waiting hall is situated.
